This article provides information on how you can configure RSA in Mobile Admin.

Warning: Configuring RSA for a host is outside the scope of Mobile Admin support. It is up to you to ensure that you have a working RSA deployment. When this is in place, the Mobile Admin RSA Authentication option can be enabled, turning over initial authentication to the RSA sub-system. If the RSA software is not working properly, enabling the RSA option in Mobile Admin will effectively lock you out of the Mobile Admin server.



  • Mobile Admin only supports the 32-bit client for RSA.
  • During this installation, the sdconf.rec file needs to be imported to the Mobile Admin host in the \windows\system32 folder. 
  • Your RSA administrator may need to generate the proper sdconf.rec file for this host.
  • For a list of agents, go to RSA (© 2017 RSA Security LLC, available at, obtained on May 8, 2017).

Perform the following steps:

  1. Install RSA Authentication Agent 6.1.3 for Microsoft Windows on the Mobile Admin server. 
  2. Configure the Mobile Admin server as an authentication agent host on the RSA server for Mobile Admin to have the ability to authenticate with it.
  3. Test the authentication agent before enabling this feature in Mobile Admin.
  4. Test the RSA authentication agent against the RSA Authentication server. The Agent software (RSA Security Center) provides a diagnostic for this purpose. 
  5. When RSA authentication from this host works, enable this feature in the Mobile Admin configuration settings.
  6. Enable RSA Authentication within Mobile Admin itself by going to Configuration > Options > Authentication Options > RSA SecurID.


  • If the Mobile Admin host is configured with more than one enabled NIC, RSA authentication can fail. 
  • The RSA configuration files need to specify which NIC/IP to use, or one of the NICs could be disabled.
