User Defined Groups have gone missing or lost custom values after upgrading LEM

Overview

After upgrading LEM, one or more of your User Defined Groups, such as Authorized USB Devices, in your console have lost their custom values or are restored to default.

Environment

All LEM versions

Cause

Currently, LEM restores any groups to the default settings after an upgrade, if the group has the default group name.

Resolution

A workaround is to clone your User Defined Group to a new group. Only the default group will be affected during upgrades. Take note  that if any rules depend on that group, you need to update them to point to the new group.

To restore a group that is lost during a LEM upgrade, please contact SolarWinds Support.
