Use PuTTY to test the LEM agent connectivity

Table of contents

Updated July 5, 2017

Overview

This article describes steps you can use to test the LEM agent and manager connection using PuTTY.

Environment

LEM all versions

Steps

  1. Download and install PuTTY from its website if you don't already have it installed.
  2. Open a new session to the LEM appliance's IP address or hostname on port 37890, 37891, and then 37892.

If the Server unexpectedly closed network connection error is displayed, it means that the port is open and there are no communication or connection issues.

If the Network error: Connection refused error is displayed, it means that the port is not open or an incorrect port was used, or there is a firewall issue between the LEM agent and the appliance.

For further troubleshooting, refer to the agent logs located in C:\Windows\Syswo64\ContegoSPOP\spoplog.txt.
