Save nDepth Searches for Frequent Queries

Save your frequent nDepth searches for future use using the Save and Save As commands in the nDepth explorer. Use a similar procedure to modify any of the default saved searches.


  • All LEM versions


To save an nDepth search for future use:

  1. Open your LEM Console and log in to your LEM Manager as an auditor or administrator.
  2. Click the Explore tab, and then click nDepth.
  3. Examine the results to see all alerts within the last ten minutes.
  4. Use the Components pane on the left to refine your search parameters, and then extend the time frame for the search.
  5. Click Search to retrieve your new results.
    Note: Searches that take a long time, or searching many events can result in the search producing time outs or possibly no results at all.
  6. If you are finished configuring your search parameters, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the nDepth view, and then click Save As.
    Note: If you are modifying an existing saved search, click Save instead.
  7. Give the report a name, and then click OK.
    Note: SolarWinds recommends that you include the time frame in your search name, as saved searches always run with the saved time frame by default. For example, enter All Firewall Alerts - Last 24 Hours.

After saving your search, execute it any time by clicking it in the Saved Searches pane on the lower left.

The saved searched can be exported for disaster recovery or importing to another user when they are logged in to the Console under Explore > nDepth.

Searches can be exported, deleted, or scheduled. A scheduled search can email the results to a defined user. If you need to edit a saved search, delete and re-create the search.
