This article describes how to reinstall the LEM Reports Console and Crystal Reports Runtime.
All LEM versions
Save any Custom Reports you have in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds Log and Event Manager Reports\CustomReports
Save any Scheduled Reports you have in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds Log and Event Manager Reports\schedINI
Note: You will be able to re-import the custom reports you have only if you import them into the same LEM Reports version. You may need to re-create the scheduled tasks after a re-install of the Reports Console.
Uninstall LEM Reports and Crystal Reports from the client.Note: If you installed Crystal Reports for use with the LEM Reports Console, also delete any of the following folders:
Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator to reinstall the Reports Console and Crystal Reports Runtime.
Note: Install the same version of LEM Reports as the version of your LEM Appliance.
Copy and paste your saved Custom Reports in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds Log and Event Manager Reports\CustomReports
Configure LEM Reports to be launched as an administrator:
a. Right-click the Reports icon and select Properties.
b. Go to the Compatibility tab.
c. Select the Run this program as an administrator box and click OK.
Create a service account user for the Reports software by going into the LEM Web Console -> Go to Build -> Users -> Click on the + in the upper right and select LEM user
Call the user reports, then change the Role to Reports (have to scroll to very bottom under Roles), this allows this user only authentication to the reports console software. It also resolves password changes, its like a Windows Service Account.
Then just give it password like = Password1 or whatever your companies password compliance is.
Then go back to the Report Console Software click on the Configure gear at the Top and go to Managers - Credentials and Certificates.
Make sure the Manager Name is the IP Address for the LEM and not the hostname.
Then for the username and password which should be just reports for the username and password = Password1
Then click on the Green (+) sign to save the configuration and then click Close.
Try Running the Agent Status report for like 5 minutes just to see if it works, if not please proceed to step#14
Unrestrict the access to LEM Reports if necessary.
a. Connect to your SolarWinds appliance(s) using an SSH client of VMware console connection. If using SSH, connect on port 32022. Log in with your cmc account.
b. Type service and press Enter to enter the Manager sub-menu.
c. Type unrestrictreports and press Enter.
Verify that you have port 9001 open between the client where you just installed LEM Reports and your LEM appliance
