Overview

This article provides brief information on nodes, agent or non-agent (syslog), disappearing or being removed randomly from the Nodes list.

Environment

All LEM versions

Cause

The issue is caused when License Recycling is enabled and removing nodes that have not sent an event recently.

Resolution

License Recycling is designed to do just this: remove inactive nodes after a period of time. This period of time is configurable, so you can resolve this by taking any of the following actions under Manage > Appliances > License:

  • Disable License Recycling entirely
  • Increase the retention period
  • Specify a user defined group containing a list of only the nodes that you want License Recycling to monitor
