Overview

This article explains why LEM displays detection time of events in the past.

Environment

LEM 6.2 and earlier

Detail

The detection time of events is the time the network device or LEM Manager or agent detected the event. This time can differ to the insertion time when the Agent or Manager is:

  • Reading historical data
  • If a network device has an incorrect time setting

The insertion time is the time the Manager or Agent first created the alert in LEM. The insertion time indicates when the data was read from a log file or other source.
