Disable a rule

The manager continues to use active rules if they are enabled. Turn off rules by disabling them. The Manager continues to use those rules until you activate their new disabled status with the Activate Rules command.

In the Rules grid, you can disable multiple rules at the same time. However, this command acts as a toggle on each selected rule. For example, if one rule is disabled and another is enabled, performing this command on both rules at the same time will invert the settings of both rules. The first rule would become enabled, and the second would become disabled. When you initiate this command on multiple rules, select only those rules that already have the same Enabled/Disabled state.

Disable a rule from the Rules grid

  1. Open the Build > Rules view.
  2. In the Rule Categories & Tags pane, maximize the category that contains the rules you want to disable.
  3. In the Rules grid, select the rule (or rules) you want to disable.
  4. To disable a single rule, click File:Success_Center/New_Articles/LEMUserGuide_MT/0B0/0J0/Button-Gear_18x15.png next to the rule and select Disable.

    To disable multiple rules, click File:Success_Center/New_Articles/LEMUserGuide_MT/0B0/0J0/Button-Gear(Gray)_18x15.png in the Rules toolbar and select Disable .

  5. The Disabled File:Success_Center/New_Articles/LEMUserGuide_MT/0B0/0J0/Icon-Disabled_15x15.png icons for each selected rule become active, indicating the rules are now inactive.

  6. Click Activate Rules.

    The Manager stops processing the disabled rules.

Disable a rule from Rule Creation

  1. Open the rule you want to disable in Rule Creation.
  2. Clear the Enable check box.
  3. Click Save.

  4. Click Activate Rules in the Rules toolbar.

    The Manager stops processing the disabled rule.
