Manage view – Set authentication preferences and manage passwords

The Manage view provides details about your LEM architecture. This view includes the following options:

  • Appliances
    Adds LEM appliances to monitor in the LEM Console and displays your LEM license details and configure global settings.
  • Nodes
    View and manage LEM nodes, including remote logging devices and LEM Agents.

Set your LEM Console authentication preference

  1. In the LEM Console, click Manage and select Appliances.
  2. In the Properties pane, click Login.
  3. Enter your LEM user name and password to enable the LEM console and authenticate your LEM appliance.

    Enter your LEM user name only to enable the LEM Console to prompt you for a password when you log in.

  4. Select the Login Automatically Next Time check box.
  5. Select the Save Credentials check box.
  6. Click Save.

Set the global password policy for LEM users

  1. In the LEM Console, click Manage and select Appliances.
  2. In the Properties pane, click the Settings tab.
  3. Adjust the Minimum Password Length setting according to your preference.
  4. Select the Must Meet Complexity Requirements check box to require complex passwords for LEM users.

    Complex passwords must include any three of the following four character types: 

    • Capital letters
    • Lower-case letters
    • Numerals (0-9)
    • Symbols (!, @, #, etc.)
  1. Click Save.
