Update the LEM License

This article describes how to update the license when there has been a license change or when maintenance is renewed.


  • All LEM versions


  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal.
  2. Hover over Licenses then select Manage Licenses on the menu bar.

  1. Find Log and Event Manager and click the plus_btn_16x16.png to expand.
  2. Copy the activation key to the clipboard.

  1. In the LEM Console, go to Manage > Appliances.
  2. Go to the License tab and click the Update License on the bottom right.
  3. Paste the key into the Key field.
  4. If necessary, modify or add the information in the given fields.
  5. Click Activate at the bottom right. You should get a message confirming that activation is successful.
