WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

When running LEM Reports from any computer, some of the logs on the Reports machine show the following errors:

29 Dec 2016 15:48:07 [ORBacus:ThreadPerRequest:Dispatcher] FATAL com.crystaldecisions.data.jdbc - SQL Exception: [SQL State:]  08006   [Error Message:]  connection exception: connection failure: org.hsqldb.HsqlException: connection exception
29 Dec 2016 15:48:07 [ORBacus:ThreadPerRequest:Dispatcher] FATAL com.crystaldecisions.data.javaserver - Return error value in dispatcher's DbLogonServer(). The error code is: 13

Environment

LEM 6.3.x

Cause

These errors can occur when the certificate on LEM is corrupted after an upgrade and the old certificate is no longer recognized by the HSQL.

Resolution

If your LEM is using a self-signed certificate, generate a new one. If you have signed and imported your own certificate, please contact SolarWinds Support.

Generate a new self-signed certificate:

  1. Connect to your LEM via SSH with the cmc account or through your hypervisor's virtual console.
  2. Go to the Manager menu and run the confselfsignedcert command.
  3. Confirm that you want to generate a new certificate.
  4. Access the console again after the service restarts.
