No email received from LEM but monitoring page shows rule triggered and email has been sent

Overview

Three quick checks to carry out in LEM if no email is received, but monitoring page shows that the rule has been triggered and email has been sent.

Environment

LEM 6.2 and later

Resolution

  1. For the rule that is showing as triggered, go to the rule itself, look into the Send an email message: action, and verify that the user you want to receive the email is selected.
  2. Go to Build > users.
    1. Locate and click the user to verify that it is highlighted.
    2. Click Test Email under the Contact Information Section.
    3. Check if this causes an error message.
  3. If there are no errors, check the email Active Response connector. Refer to Configure the Email Active Response Connector. Verify that all the connector's SMTP server information is correct.

If the issue persists, refer to Troubleshooting rules and email responses. If this still does not resolve your issue, please contact the SolarWinds Technical Support for further assistance.
