No drives are displayed when clicking Browse in FIM connector configuration

Updated July 6, 2017

Overview

While attempting to configure a monitor for the File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) File and Directory connector, clicking the Browse buttons to select the drives and folders returns an empty pop-up window with no drives displayed.

Environment

All LEM versions

Cause

This issue can occur because of the following:

  • The FIM driver is not started or has an error.
  • The LEM agent has encountered communication issues.

Resolution

  1. Update the LEM agent to the latest version and hotfix by updating your LEM appliance and allowing it to push out the agent updates.
Note: You can verify which agent version you are running by checking a folder with the LEM version listed in the agent folder at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ContegoSPOP. For example, 6.3.1.hotfix5.
  2. Delete any configured FIM connectors in this node's connector configuration page under Manage > Nodes.
  3. Restart the SolarWinds Log and Event Manager Agent service on this host.
  4. Add a new File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) File and Directory connector on this node and verify that you are able to browse to its drives.
