This article provides information about moving LEM from VMware to Hyper-V, or moving LEM from Hyper-V to VMWare.

  • All versions of LEM
  • All versions of Hyper-V

VMware to Hyper-V

We don't know of a tool that is able to convert a VMware virtual machine to a Hyper-V format. Therefore, deploying a new LEM in Hyper-V is required. Please have a Hyper-V LEM deployed, and then contact SolarWinds Support who can walk through moving your database and settings to the new appliance.

Hyper-V to VMware

When converting from Hyper-V to VMware, you would use your VMware conversion tool either stand-alone or from within the VMware console. You will need to contact technical support to have them put in the password for root on the LEM. Once this is done, just follow the prompts to finish the migration.
