Overview

Unsynchronized time can cause rules to not function. This article describe you how to check the time on LEM. This article also describes how to not make the LEM sync to the VMware host. You may receive this message after configuring an NTP server(s) on your LEM:

VM is configured to sync with host

Environment

  • All LEM versions
  • NTP servers specified in LEM

Steps

To unsync the time with the VMware Host in order to specify ntp servers.

  1. Go to VSphere Client.
  2. Go to the LEM.
  3. Click Summary.
  4. Go to the VM Options, and uncheck Synchronize guest time with host.
  5. Click OK.

To sync time on LEM with NTP servers:

  1. Go to Putty or Vsphere Console
  2. Under username, enter cmc.
  3. Type appliance and press enter.
  4. type ntpconfig and press enter.
  5. Type follow the onscreen prompts
