Locked out of LEM and how to reset the admin password

This article describes how to reset the administrator password to log in to the LEM Adminstrator Console.


LEM 6.2.x and below


If you are running LEM 6.3 or 6.3.1, see Reset admin password for LEM 6.3 and later

If you are running LEM 6.2.x, perform the following steps:

  1. Connect to the LEM via SSH client or hypervisor virtual console.
    See Use an SSH client to connect to your LEM Appliance for details.
  2. Navigate to the Manager menu.
  3. Run the resetadmin command. 
    The Manager Service restarts.
    You can now log in to the console using a username of admin and default password of password.
  4. When prompted, reset the administrator password.
