LEM Reports error: This system does not have a valid license

Overview

The following LEM Reports error is displayed:

You are attempting to use functionality that falls under the Business Object Report Creation API license. This system does not have a valid license, or the evaluation copy of the license has expired. Please contact Business Objects to obtain a Report Creation API license.

Environment

  • All LEM versions
  • LEM Reports in the same version of LEM

Cause 

This issue can occur when Crystal Reports Runtime is not installed as an administrator on Windows 7 or later.

Resolution

  1. Uninstall Crystal Reports Runtime 11.
  2. Reinstall Crystal Reports Runtime 11 as an administrator.
  3. Run LEM Reports to verify that the application is working.

Note: The LEM Reports application may also need to be installed as an administrator.
