Updated: August 1, 2018

  • LEM 6.4  Hyper-V deployment

When LEM is configured to back up with either Windows Backup or a 3rd party that utilizes VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service ) for the backup process, and is paused for the VSS process, LEM will not recover from pausing(An known issue with the current Linux kernel). This issue is not exclusive to the LEM Appliance but affects multiple Linux distributions. This causes the machine to freeze and throw an Out of Memory error or freeze at the blue screen console.

  1. On the Hyper-V machine, open Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Integration Services.
  3. Clear the Backup or Checkpoint check boxes depending on your version of Hyper-V.

4. Make sure you have removed the LEM virtual machine from any of your backup jobs.

To back up the LEM Appliance, please see Configure backups on you LEM appliance.
