FIM is not monitoring changes to folders

Updated: July 27, 2016

Overview

This article describes the issue when FIM doesn't appear to be monitoring folders after configuring the connector.

Environment

LEM version 6.0 and later

Cause

The mask being used in your FIM connector's monitor is using the default of "*.*". Hence, folders will only be monitored if they have a dot in their names.

Resolution

To correct this, adjust the mask in the FIM connector to simply be a single asterisk (which functions as wildcard) with no dot.
