Enable the SNMP Trap Listening service in LEM

Overview

This article describes how to enable or disable the SNMP Trap Listening service in LEM.

The article will also help explain SNMP in LEM.

Environment

All LEM versions

 

LEM can accept SNMP traps for the following devices (which is subject to change)

"Cisco 5508 Wireless LAN Controller"

"ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 4.5+"

"ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)"

"Axcient Unified Management Console (UMC)"

"eEye Blink Professional Endpoint Protection"

"ISS Proventia IPS"

"ISS RealSecure IDS"

"Motorola WS2000 snmp"

"ManageEngine Password Manager Pro SNMP"

"SecureNet IDS"

"Sophos Anti-Virus SNMP"

"Websense Web Filter and Websense Web Security"


 

 

Steps

 

LEM 6.3 and later

  1. Log in to LEM CMC.
  2. Enter the following commands:
    cmc> service
    cmc::scm# snmp
            

Note: To disable the SNMP service, enter  snmp command to disable the service.

 

LEM 6.2.1 and earlier

  1. Log in to LEM CMC.
  2. Enter the following commands:
    cmc> service
    cmc::scm# enablesnmp

Note: To disable the SNMP service, enter disablesnmp  command from the service menu.
