Directory Service Groups are not syncing

Updated December 9, 2016

Overview

After making, adding or removing an object from a Directory Service Group on your domain controller and waiting some time, you find that the changes have not synced to the corresponding LEM group under Build > Groups.

Note:  Groups will be updated when added to the LEM initially and then synch every 5 minutes going forward.

Environment

LEM 6.2.1 and earlier

Cause

  • A communication problem between LEM and your domain controller.
  • Your Directory Service Query connector is not configured properly.
  • An unknown issue is causing sync failures.

Resolution

  1. Verify that your Directory Service Query connector is configured properly. See Set up Active Directory authentication in LEM 6.3.0 and older.
  2. Restart the Manager service.
  3. Upgrade to the latest version of LEM. See Upgrade LEM.
  4. Try removing and re-adding the Directory Service Group under Build > Groups. That will force a manual sync.
