This article describes an issue where the events for DHCP operational log connector on the DHCP server are not displayed in LEM after they are enabled.

All LEM versions

This issue occurs when there is a space in the name of the event viewer in the registry.

Note: This is an environmental issue due to incorrect registry names. SolarWinds is not responsible for testing environmental issues. Create a backup of your files and database before performing any changes to any registry entries and nodes.

  1. Stop the DHCP connector.
  2. Open Registry Editor on the Windows Server machine.
  3. Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog folder.
  4. Create a new key using the path of the log in Event Viewer under Applications and Services Logs.
Note: The path should match the entry in the Log File field in the connector settings. For example, Microsoft-Windows-Dhcp-Server/Operational.
  5. Create a new connector or restart the current connector if it has previously been created.
