Configure logging on SonicWall Aventail SSL VPN E-Class appliances

This article describes how to configure your SonicWall Aventail SSL VPN E-Class appliance to log to your SolarWinds LEM Manager.


All LEM versions


  1. Log in to your Aventail Management Console.
  2. In the left pane under the Monitoring category, click Logging.
  3. Go to the Configure Logging tab.
  4. In the Aventail service log level section, select the following:
    • Web proxy: Verbose
    • Network tunnel: Verbose
    • Management: Debug
  5. In the Syslog configuration section, configure the following fields:
    • x: {The IP address for your LEM Manager}
    • Port: 514
    • Protocol: UDP

      There is no option to set a specific remote syslog facility. The appliance will log to local6 by default.

  6. Click Save.
  7. To commit the settings, click Pending changes in the upper right.
