All connectors are stopped and will not start

One of the following scenarios is occurs:

  • All connectors for one particular agent will not start.
  • All connectors for every agent will not start.
  • All connectors for every agent and for the LEM manager will not start.


All LEM versions


Potential causes include:

  • The agent is offline or is having an issue connecting properly.
  • The manager service has crashed.
  • The LEM has run out of memory.


When connectors are offline for only one agent

  1. Remote to that particular host.
  2. Go to Start > Run > services.msc.
  3. Restart the SolarWinds Log and Event Manager Agent service.
  4. Once the agent's status icon turns back to green under Manage > Nodes, check its connectors again.
  5. If they still do not come back online, try reinstalling the agent itself. See SolarWinds LEM Agent Installer for Windows.


When connectors are offline for all agents and/or the manager is under Manage > Appliances

  1. Connect to the CMC console. See Use an SSH client to connect to your LEM Appliance.
  2. Go to manager and run the restart command.
  3. After a minute or two, reconnect to the web console.
  4. Check the connectors that were previously affected to see if they come online.
    Note: The agents may take some time to reconnect, so wait until the status icon for that agent goes green.
  5. If that resolves it, the manager service may have crashed or the LEM may have run out of memory. Make sure you have appropriate reservations for your environment.
