Overview

This article describes how to configure F5 log settings to send syslogs to LEM and configure the F5 connectors in the LEM Web Console.

Environment

  • LEM all versions
  • F5 Big-IP appliance via syslog

Steps

  1. Configure the F5 appliance to send syslogs to the LEM server on port 514 (© 2017 F5 Networks, Inc., available at https://support.f5.com/, obtained on June 20, 2017).
  2. Configure the F5 Big-IP connectors depending on which type of logs you would like to monitor:
  • - F5BigIPLTMgeneral
  • - F5BigIPhttpd
  • - F5BigIPmessages
  • - F5BigIPdaemon

   3. Start the connectors that you enabled, LEM should show the "New node found" message for any new IP addresses it detects and then add them to the Nodes list under Manage > Nodes.
