The following error message appears when installing the local agent and remote agent on Windows 2012 R2, and the recommended resolution in the error message does not work:

Installer UI Mode Error

Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

The installer cannot run in this UI mode. To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The valid UI modes identifiers are GUI, Console, and Silent.​

Environment

  • LEM 6.0.1 or 6.1
  • Windows Local Agent Installer or Remote Agent Installer 6.0.1 or 6.1
  • Windows Server 2012 R2

Resolution

This issue was resolved in version 6.2. Upgrade your LEM to the latest version from the Customer Portal and download the latest agent installers.

If you are unable to download the latest version, apply the following workaround:

  1. Locate and open the Properties of the .exe file of the agent.
  2. On the Compatibility tab, select the Compatibility mode to Windows 7.

Cause

This was an issue with the installer's wrapper in versions 6.0.1 and 6.1. Version 6.2 and later are unaffected.
