How to test the Directory Service Query connector in LEM

Overview

This article describes how to verify that the Directory Service Query connector in LEM is functioning properly. This connector is required to set up Microsoft® Active Directory® authentication in LEM 6.3 and earlier. 

Environment

  • All LEM versions

Detail

  1. Configure the Directory Service Query connector, and then click Test Domain Connection.
    See Set up Active Directory authentication in LEM 6.3.0 and older for details.
  2. Create an nDepth query.
    1. Expand the Event Groups menu.
    2. Select Any Alert and drag EventInfo into the nDepth search bar.
    3. In the Search field, enter Connection to.
  3. Run the search.
  4. On the nDepth Explorer toolbar, click Results Details to view the results and verify that the event fired.
  5. Check the EventInfo field to verify that the following message does not display:
    Connection to Directory Service failed
