Event time in received emails is off by one hour

The time displayed in the message body of rule-fired emails is ahead or behind one hour from the system time. If you look at the same events in the web console, the time is displayed accurately.


  • All LEM versions


Your configured time zone is inaccurate or you selected a city that does not reflect the Daylight Saving Time (DST) preference for your location.


  1. Open an SSH tool (such as PuTTY).
  2. Enter the IP address and port number (port 22) of the LEM appliance.

    See Use an SSH client to connect to your LEM Appliance for details.

  3. Log in with username cmc.

    If you are using an evaluation copy of LEM, enter password as the password.

  4. Open the appliance menu and run the tzconfig command.
  5. Select the correct time zone for your location.

    Be aware that some listed cities (such as Phoenix, Arizona) do not observe DST.

  6. Accept the changes.
  7. Type reboot to restart your LEM appliance and enable your changes.
