Changing the CMC password

Overview

This article details how to change the password needed to log in to the LEM CMC command-line interface.

All LEM versions

Steps

Prerequisite: You must know your current CMC password. If you no longer have the CMC password needed to log in to the CMC interface, contact SolarWinds Support who can help you reset the password. 

  1. Log in to the cmc interface using either a hypervisor console or an SSH client via port 22 or 32022 (if LEM is 6.2.1 or earlier, only port 32022 is open).
  2. Type appliance
  3. Type password 
  4. Follow the wizard to change the password.

 

The cmc password will then be changed.
