This article provides brief steps on how to apply your LEM license for versions 5.3 or later.

You can obtain your license key from the SolarWinds Customer Portal. Enter this key in your SolarWinds LEM Console to apply your nodes license to your LEM Manager.

LEM version 5.3 or later

  1. Open your LEM Console and log into your LEM Manager as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Manage > Appliances.
  3. Click License on the Properties pane.
  4. Select Automatic or Manual in the Type field.
Note: We recommend choosing Automatic here, but the Manual option is available when the computer you are using to complete this procedure is not able to connect to the Internet.
  5. Enter your license key in the Key field.
  6. Enter your Name, Email, and Phone.
  7. Click Activate.
  8. Click OK when the license has been successfully activated.
  9. The LEM will not add nodes until the License is up to date.
  10.  You cannot get LEM updates without a active License.

After you have applied your LEM license in the console, Activate your virtual appliance.
