Overview

This article discusses why there are cases wherein when you apply the license to the Log Viewer application, the license works but when you log out and log back in, it shows as evaluation.

 

Environment

Kiwi Syslog Log Viewer version 2.1.0

Detail

When applying the Log viewer license, there are two options:

  • Enter the license details manually 

Note: This is not the standard license key used in most Solarwinds products. It consists of a serial number and license.

  • Copy the license file to clipboard 

If the user does not have sufficient permission to write to the registry, the license will not apply correctly and the registration key will not write to the registry. You must be logged in as an administrator to perform this task.

Warning: Consult your System Administrator before performing this procedure.
