Log and Event Forwarder has high CPU usage on domain controllers

Updated March 11th, 2016

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when LEF version 1.2.0 is experiencing high CPU usage across domain controllers intermittently and needs frequent restarts to continue the service.

Environment

  • Log and Event Forwarder version 1.2.0
  • Windows Server 2008 / 2012 (R2)

Resolution

Revert back to the version 1.1.19 and configure the same subscriptions.

This version does not trigger high CPU spikes.
