Kiwi Syslog server service fails to start

Updated March 11th, 2016

Overview

The Kiwi Syslog Server service stops a few seconds after starting. The Errorlog.txt file in the Kiwi Syslog Server shows the following error:

Manager Version 9.5.0.337
Error Number: 91
Description: Object variable or With block variable not set
Module Name: MailServer.cls
Procedure Name: Class_Terminate
Line Number: 80

Environment

  • Kiwi Syslog Server 9.5
  • All versions of Windows

Cause

This is due to missing files.

Resolution

Re-run the Kiwi Syslog Server installation program:

  1. Right-click the installation file and click Run as Administrator.
  2. Click Next on all pages in order to preserve existing settings.
  3. When prompted to install Kiwi Web Access, uncheck both boxes.

Note: If any HotfFixes have been implemented, they need to be reinstalled.
