Evaluation version displays after applying a Kiwi Syslog Server license

Updated January 2, 2019

After you purchase and apply your Kiwi Syslog Server license, Evaluation version continues to display in the Kiwi Syslog Web Access user interface.

  • All Kiwi Syslog Server versions

If Kiwi Syslog Web Access (KWA) is operational after applying the license:

  • Clear the browser cache and check with KWA.
  • Access Kiwi Syslog Server using a different web browser.
  • Repair or uninstall Kiwi Syslog Web Access.

Edit the system registry

Warning: SolarWinds strongly recommends that you back up your registry before making any edits to your system registry. You should only edit the registry if you are experienced and confident in doing so. Using a registry editor incorrectly can cause serious issues with your operating system, which could require you to reinstall your operating system to correct them. SolarWinds cannot guarantee resolutions to any damage resulting from making registry edits.

If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, update the DaysLeft string in the system registry.

  1. Log in to the server hosting Kiwi Syslog Server.
  2. Navigate to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Kiwi Syslog Web Access\html\App_Data
  3. Back up your Kiwi Syslog Web Access files.
  4. Navigate to:
  5. Check the DaysLeft string value in the registry.
    1. If your software is running on a 64-bit machine, navigate to:
If your software is running on a 32-bit machine, navigate to:
    2. Open the DaysLeft string.
    3. Check the string values.
A Licensed version of Kiwi Syslog Server should have the DaysLeft value set to -1. If this is not the same, update the value by editing the DaysLeft string.
    4. Save and close the file.
  6. Log in to Kiwi Web Access.
  7. Verify that the user interface does not display an Evaluation license.
If the changes did not take effect, delete this string Value and check in KWA.
