Confirm message arrival to system

Kiwi Syslog Daemon fails to receive or display messages.


Kiwi Syslog Daemon


After you have properly configured your network devices, and Kiwi Syslog Daemon is not receiving or displaying messages, then you will need to confirm whether or not the messages are actually arriving and getting into your system. To confirm you are receiving syslog messages, use a packet capture tool such as Ethereal or Wireshark


Use Ethereal or Wireshark to filter for and display syslog information that is sent to your system. For help setting up Ethereal to view syslog messages, see Set Up Ethereal to Capture Syslog Messages.
