This article provides steps on how you can retain syslog messages for a fixed time.

All versions of Kiwi Syslog

  1. Open File > Setup and right-click on Schedule and select add new schedule.
  2. In the task type, select Clean-up and leave Task Trigger on a schedule.
  3. Set the start date if needed and then adjust the slider to the required schedule frequency, Day would be a common choice for the clean-up to occur every day at the specified time.
  4. Click the source tab and select the folder location of the Syslogs (defaults to standard log location).
  5. Select the File age 'at least' and then set the maximum age you wish to keep.
  6. Select clean-up options and leave as default if required to remove empty folders.
  7. Select Clean-up notification if you want to be notified when the schedule runs.
  8. Click on the apply button.
