Kiwi Syslog Web Access Server error: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException

After upgrading to version 9.4.1, you might receive the following error on Kiwi Syslog Web Access:

Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.

Status Code: 500

System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at _Event.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) 


Kiwi Syslog version 9.4.1


The error occurs due to the conflict between the old and new versions of the web-server.


  1. Stop the Kiwi Syslog Server service -  How to Start/Stop Kiwi Syslog Services.
  2. Move the following Event#.sdf from \Program Files\Solarwinds\Kiwi Syslog Web Access\html\App_Data\ to a different location.
  3. Copy Event-blank.sdf to Event.sdf.
  4. Start the Kiwi Syslog Server service.
