Kiwi Syslog Server unable to write logs to a NAS

Overview

This article provides information about the results when attempting to write logs to a destination over the network.

Environment

  • All version of Windows  
  • All versions of Kiwi Syslog Server

Details

  • When installing the software, the recommended account is to use the local administrator. 
  • When setting up as a service, it is also recommended to use the local system account. However, this service account needs the rights and permissions to be able to write to a destination across the network.
  • To be able to allow logs to write to the NAS, use a domain admin account or an account created for the Syslog Server.
