Create a log to file action in Kiwi Syslog

This article provides steps on how to add actions to rules to allow the syslogs or traps to be sent to a log file.


  • Kiwi Syslog version 9.5


  1. Open the setup by clicking File> Setup.
  2. Select the Rules and right-click.
  3. Select Add rule.
  4. In the new rule, right-click Actions and select add action.
  5. In Action drop down, select Log to File.
  6. System automatically populates the File name and path, edit path and file name if required.
  7. Place the Cursor before the .txt and click Insert AutoSplitValue.
  8. Choose how you want the files named, IPaddress, date or any combination of the options.
  9. Click Apply.
