Changes to Email Rules not reflected in Kiwi Syslog

Overview

Modifications to settings, such as changing Rule/Actions to email a different email address are reflected in the Kiwi Syslog Server service.

Environment

  • Windows 2012 or later
  • Kiwi Syslog Server 9.5

Cause 

User Access Control is preventing the Kiwi Syslog Server Manager from making modifications to settings in the Windows registry. As a result, the Kiwi Syslog Server service does not see the new settings.

Resolution

Download and install HotFix 1 or later for Kiwi Syslog Server 9.5 from the SolarWinds Customer Portal.

If you are unable to implement the HotFix, run the Kiwi Syslog Server Manager as an administrator.
