Change the log file format

Updated March 11th, 2016

Overview

This article provides information on how to change log file format in Kiwi Syslog Server.

Environment

  • All versions of Kiwi Syslog Server
  • All versions of Windows

Detail

By default, KSS saves the log as SyslogCatchAll%DateISO.txt, changing the .txt to .csv begins to save the logs in that specific format.

Depending on the preferred configuration of your log files, some settings may not take place properly if you have options such as Enable File Rotation for sizes and are within the Path and File Name of Log Files. If the format is set with %TimHH%TimeMM, the file size might not reach what is configured if the time rolls over before the log reaches the configured size.
