Kiwi CatTools service error: 193: 0xc1

Overview

This article provides brief information and a resolution to the following error when the Kiwi CatTools license is applied and the application is opened:

CatTools service failed to start

The following error when using Windows service manager:

Error 193: 0xc1

Environment

  • Kiwi CatTools version 3.10

Cause 

The error occurs when a folder in the root of C:\ with the name program exists, causing the service properties to look in the wrong folder for the CatTools service.exe.

Resolution

  1. Rename the Program folder to Program_1.
  2. Restart Kiwi CatTools service.
