Back up Kiwi CatTools files

Overview

This article provides information when backing up Kiwi CatTools files. Kiwi CatTools should be backed up in case of system failure. While you may choose to simply backup the CatTools database, there are other files which may be critical in your environment.

All version of Kiwi CatTools

Detail

Kiwi CatTools should be regularly backed up in case of system failure. While you may choose to simply backup the CatTools database, there are other files which may be critical in your environment such as device backup files.

Note: This information assumes that  CatTools is installed in the default folder location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3


Database Instructions

Use the File > Database > Backup current database menu to create a backup. This creates a database backup file located in the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\KDB Backups

As an extra precaution, you may also choose to export your database to text files.

 

File  Instructions

Using your preferred backup software, make a copy of every sub-folder and file from the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\
