Add a Device in Cattools for Gigamon device

Overview

This article provides information and steps to configure Kiwi CatTools to backup a Gigamon device if it does not exist as a device type in CatTools. 

Environment

  • CatTools version 3.6 and later
  • All Windows versions

Steps

  1. Add a new device to CatTools and set the Device Type to Generic.Device
  2. Enter the settings in the Device Information and Password fields. 
  3. Go to Variations tab, and then click Use Variations.
  4. On the Full Prompts tab, set the following fields:

    Note: The device name appears in the prompt when you are logged into the Gigamon device.

    • Full Enable prompt - {device name} #
    • Full Config prompt - {device name} >
  5. Go to the Additional Commands tab and set the Disable Paging field to term len 999.

  6. Click Save, and then click OK. 
  7. Add a new Device.Backup.Running config activity and assign the new Device to this activity.
