Used IP addresses report reflects incorrect data

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when the used IP Addresses Report reflects a higher number than what was used.

All IPAM versions

The issue is caused when a device fails to respond to any SNMP or ICMP requests for the period of time designated as the Transient Period. IPAM changes the status of the unresponsive IP address from Used to Available. IPAM continuously scans all managed IP addresses on your network

Any associated custom attribute will be overwritten. You can assign Transient scan intervals on a per subnet basis from the Edit Subnet window.

To configure Orion IPAM subnet scan settings:

1. Click IP Addresses from the menu bar.

2. Click IPAM Settings.

3. Click Manage Subnet Scans Settings.

4. Enter an appropriate value for the Transient Period.

Note: The Transient period must be a value from .2 to 340 days.
