Unable to add BIND DNS server on IPAM for monitoring

Updated May 5th, 2016

Overview

Unable to add Bind DNS server on IPAM for monitoring.

Environment

IPAM version 4.1 and later

Resolution

Do not use the unsupported special characters from Bash prompt of Bind DNS server.

The special characters used in the Bash prompt of Bind DNS server interferes with the parsing logic of IPAM.

Note:

The following Bash prompt special characters are not supported by IPAM v4.3.
