Support for DHCP config with external file containing reservations

Table of contents

Updated February 21, 2017

IPAM does not retrieve reservations when they are stored in an external file referenced by the DHCP Config.

IPAM 4.3.2 and later

DHCP config file references an external file called arm.cfg with reserved IP addresses:
subnet netmask {
option routers;
option broadcast-address;
option subnet-mask;
option domain-name "";
include "/etc/dhcp/arm.cfg";

arm.cfg contains list of reserved IP addresses but IPAM does not retrieve them:

host arm-tieto-1 {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:66;
host arm-tieto-2 {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:67;
host C32-tieto-1 {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:68;
host C32-tieto-2 {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:69;
host terminal-2 {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:61;
host arm-inf-d {
hardware ethernet 11:22:33:44:55:62;

This is expected behavior at the moment. IPAM does not currently support saving reservations in an external file referenced from the DHCP config file.

This might be added as new feature in future releases.
