No DHCP scopes or DNS zones gathered through scan

Overview

This article pertains to when you add in a DHCP or DNS server into IPAM that is being monitored via External rather than ICMP, SNMP or WMI, the credentials pass upon entry and it states it finds X amount of scopes or zones. However, upon scanning the DHCP or DNS server, it states the job has been started, but none of the scopes or zones are pulled into IPAM.

Upon checking the database, the scopes or zones are never found in their respective tables, nor do the logs show the job for the scanning ever occurs.

Environment

IPAM 3 and later

Cause 

IPAM does not support the polling of External based nodes.

Resolution

Edit the node and change it from an External monitor type to ICMP, SNMP or WMI.
