Subnet column matching validation problem

Updated November 29, 2016

Overview

This article provides a workaround for the following error that displays when importing a file containing an IP address in the same subnet as an existing scope:

Subnet specification is ambigous (sp)

Environment

All IPAM versions

Resolution

Suggested Workaround:

  1. Remove the DHCP server(s) which contains the scope with the address which is ambiguous. Only remove the DHCP Server, do not remove any subnets, or physical scopes from the DHCP server.
  2. Import the file containing the same data structure again.
  3. Add the DHCP server(s) back again.
