Setting the number of Simultaneous Scans

Table of contents

Updated August 3, 2018

This article addresses the concern for the maximum number of simultaneous scans on scan job status.

This feature is not available in IPAM 4.6 or later.

IPAM 4.5  or earlier.

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Click Settings > All Settings.
  3. Click IPAM Settings, and then select Manage subnet scan settings.
  4. Adjust the max number of Simultaneous Scans.

Increasing the amount of simultaneous scans does increase the ICMP traffic from the poller to the endpoints and can affect job weight for Orion based off subnet size and count. It is advisable to use 2 scans if the subnets in IPAM are very large. The smaller the subnets, the smaller the impact with server and network resources.
